2. What data do we process and where does it come from?

We process the data necessary for the operation of the digital ecosystem mediterraneoconectado.com:

  • Data provided by the user: Name, surname, email, phone number, position, company, origin (ZIP/ Country), and professional interests declared during registration.
  • Browsing and usage data (Inferred): Technical access logs, IP address (for security), interaction statistics with the map, QR/NFC scans (“collected windows”), and configured agenda.

We may also record the linking of the user’s profile to a wristband (QR) physically delivered at the stand, which will be used to identify them in different areas of the exhibition space by scanning the QR. This association is optional and allows for an enhanced interactive experience within the pavilion.

3. For what purpose do we process your data?

  1. Platform Operation: Manage user registration (Login), allow access to digital content (paperless downloads) and personalize the experience.
  2. Gamification: Track interactions at the physical stand (QR wristband scans) to accumulate points in the user profile.
  3. Networking (Professional/B2B profile only): Facilitate contact between professionals, suggest matches, and manage meetings, only if the user actively opts in.
  4. Security and Improvement: Analyze usage metrics to improve usability and ensure the technical security of the platform against cyberattacks.

4. What is the legal basis for processing?

The processing is based on the following GDPR legal bases:

  • Consent (Art. 6.1.a): To enable specific functionalities such as visibility in B2B networking.
  • Public Interest Mission (Art. 6.1.e): Derived from the tourism promotion competences of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.
  • Legitimate Interest (Art. 6.1.f): To ensure network security and perform anonymized statistical analyses.

5. How long will we keep your data?

Personal data associated with your user account will remain active until December 31, 2026, to manage the different trade fairs in which mediterraneoconectado.com will be active (FITUR, ITB, WTM, IBTM WORLD), as well as to manage post-fair activities, extract impact metrics, and justify the actions of the Mediterráneo Conectado project. The user may unsubscribe at any time.

Once this period ends, the data will be blocked or anonymized, remaining exclusively available to courts and tribunals during the statute of limitations for legal responsibilities.

6. To whom will your data be disclosed?

Data will not be shared with third parties, except when required by law, for example, by law enforcement agencies, judicial authorities, or competent administrative authorities.

Additionally, to properly provide services linked to the mediterraneoconectado.com platform, data may be processed by technology providers acting as Data Processors under contracts signed according to Article 28 of the GDPR. These providers act under the instructions of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and under confidentiality and security guarantees, in accordance with the National Security Framework (ENS).

If you use networking functionalities to contact professionals or exhibitor companies, contact data may be shared with these entities only as a result of a voluntary action by the data subject.

7. What are your rights?

You have the right to obtain confirmation on whether Turisme Comunitat Valenciana is processing personal data concerning you.
